For Prahova Employers
Prahova holds more industrial parks than any other Romanian county and carries the country's main oil reserves, with petroleum accounting for close to half of county industrial output. That combination makes tank and dangerous goods work the signature of a Prahova driver, alongside curtainsider traffic out of the parks and oversize movements from the equipment plants. Employers here publish a genuine vacancy, name the categoria and the endorsements they need, and then interview and hire for themselves.
One genuine vacancy • Candidates apply straight to you • Permit guidance under a separate agreement
Prahova is an industrial county rather than a distribution one, with twelve industrial parks, Romania's second largest refinery at Brazi and more than a hundred thousand residents working in industry.
Put the vacancy up at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/romania. Name categoria C+E or categoria C, say whether the atestat profesional and a valid card tahograf are required on day one, and be specific about which ADR endorsement the role needs, because tank and packaged goods are different documents.
FastDriver.eu is not an employer of drivers, not a labour supplier, not a recruitment agency and not an agent de muncă temporară. No driver sits on its books and none is hired out to a Prahova operator. It publishes the advert you wrote, and the reply comes to you unread by anyone else.
A planning point few employers outside the county know: the largest of the parks here is a private logistics estate of several hundred hectares, and it is the only concentration of its kind in this part of Romania that is a genuine alternative to the capital's ring rather than an extension of it. The rest of the national detail lives on the Romania employer page.
Prahova employers recruit tank drivers with ADR, packaged dangerous goods drivers, curtainsider drivers on industrial park traffic, heavy equipment and oversize drivers, international TIR drivers and categoria B distribution drivers around Ploiești.
Tank work is the endorsement that distinguishes a driver in this county, given the refining and fuel handling base around Ploiești and Brazi. Categoria C+E with the atestat profesional and the tank variant of ADR. Mainly intern. State the product groups and whether loading is driver operated.
Packaged dangerous goods moving to and from the chemical and plastics tenants in the county's parks. Categoria C or categoria C+E with the packaged variant of ADR, which is a separate certificate from the tank one. Largely intern. Say whether the round is multi-drop or full load.
Curtainsider articulated work feeding the industrial parks at Ploiești, Urlați, Mizil and Bărcănești, where packaging, concrete, plastics and automotive component tenants sit together. Categoria C+E, domestic, and on this corridor frequently a night pattern. Say so in the advert rather than in the small print.
Oil extraction equipment manufacturing is a named county industry, and it generates dense, awkward and sometimes oversize movements. Categoria C+E, intern, and oversize work carries its own attestation beyond the ordinary atestat profesional. Say whether escorted or permitted loads are part of the job.
International running is advertised from this county, including from towns such as Băicoi. Categoria C+E, extern, with long spells away and sometimes crewed rather than solo. State the rotation, the trailer type, whether ADR is wanted, and quote the diurnă separately from basic pay.
Be exact about the endorsement. An advert asking only for ADR in a county like this will draw tank drivers and packaged goods drivers alike, and disappoint whichever group it did not mean.
Prahova runs from the edge of the București plain up into the Carpathians, with Ploiești at its centre as both the industrial core and the junction where two restricted road sections meet. Its freight weight sits on the plain rather than in the mountains.
The industrial belt wraps around Ploiești, with park zones at Urlați, Mizil, Ciorani and Bărcănești and the refinery capacity at Brazi just south of the city. Most heavy driver demand sits inside that belt.
Plopeni to the north and Băicoi on the road towards the mountains carry their own industrial and transport employment, so a depot outside Ploiești still draws on a recognised handful of settlements rather than on empty country.
The motorway junction at Dumbrava is the county's most useful piece of geography for a heavy operator, because the long distance route north east begins there and offers a lawful alternative to the restricted national road.
Ploiești is itself a destination for commuters and not only a feeder, which matters when you price a vacancy here: candidates have industrial alternatives on their doorstep as well as the pull of the capital an hour away.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital ring, the Black Sea port, the western gateway counties and the eastern border. Open another county to see the hiring information that applies there.
Romanian drivers search in Romanian. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market.
Sofer profesionist is the dominant advert title. Sofer TIR signals international work and is read that way immediately. Sofer camion and sofer de distributie name the vehicle and the job. Conducator auto is the formal register that appears in documents and regulations rather than in adverts.
Intern or extern is the first thing a Romanian driver looks for, because it decides whether they are home each night or away for weeks. Put it in the headline. An advert that leaves it out collects applications from people who withdraw once they find out.
Pe comunitate is the phrase that signals the well paid international segment. It is worth using where it is true, and worth avoiding where it is not, because drivers treat it as a promise about earnings.
Write the licence as C+E. That form appears far more often in real adverts than CE, by a wide margin, and writing it the other way marks an advert as drafted by someone outside the trade.
The qualification is the atestat profesional, for marfa or for persoane. Adverts list it alongside the card tahograf and ADR where the load requires it. Name only what the role genuinely needs.
Pay needs two numbers, not one. Salary and diurna are quoted separately in Romanian adverts, and for international work the daily allowance is a very large part of what a driver actually takes home. An advert that gives only the salary reads as badly paid even when it is not.
Romanian drivers read an advert for the route, the vehicle, the time away and the two pay figures. An advert that answers those four things gets better applications than one that lists benefits.
Prahova is the one county in this group where a certificate name belongs in the advert title. The refining and petroleum equipment base means ADR appears here as a routine requirement rather than a specialism, and the distinction a candidate reads is between ADR colete, for dangerous goods in packages, and ADR cisterne, for tank work. Those are separate documents and separate jobs, and an advert naming only ADR will attract both groups and satisfy neither. The rest of the vocabulary is the national one: șofer profesionist as the head term, șofer TIR for extern running, categoria written with the plus sign as C+E because that is how both the adverts and the searches write it, and card tahograf valabil with the word valid included, since an expired card stops the driver at the roadside rather than at the depot gate.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Romanian vacancies.
Start by ignoring most of what is published about this, because the system changed. The separate work permit that employers used to apply for has been abolished and replaced by a single application filed on a state platform. The old route was switched off months before the new platform opened, so guidance written before the change is not just dated, it describes a procedure that no longer exists.
Drivers sit on the shortage occupations list, which is the gate for the main employment route. For a haulier that is genuinely good news and it is the part of the system working in your favour.
The real barrier is not the paperwork. Filing directly requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published threshold and a financial guarantee for each worker. Most Romanian hauliers sit below that headcount, which means they cannot file at all and must go through a licensed placement agency instead. Check which side of that line your company falls on before you plan anything else, because it changes the whole approach.
The annual quota is a single national figure rather than a transport allocation, and it was cut rather than raised. A large share of it is consumed well before the year ends, so an application late in the cycle competes for what is left.
Employers in Prahova may receive applications from drivers based in Romania, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Romania without an authorisation. A Moldovan national holding Romanian citizenship is an EU citizen and needs nothing, while one without it faces full external border checks, because the Romanian border with Moldova is now a Schengen external frontier. The difference is large and it is worth establishing early in a conversation rather than late.
The employment contract has to reach the national register before the driver starts work, not afterwards. The register changed name and platform recently, and the penalties for undeclared work are severe with a high ceiling, so this is not a formality to leave until the first week.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. A Romanian driver reads it first, and C+E in the headline tells them immediately whether the job is theirs.
Freight work uses C and C+E, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C1 and C1E open at eighteen, C and C+E at twenty one and reduce to eighteen for a driver holding the professional qualification. D and DE open at twenty four and reduce to twenty one on the same basis. Heavy categories run five years.
Romania asks for something most member states do not. A professional driver needs an annual medical check and an annual psychological check, and the psychological opinion is also part of the file for exchanging a foreign licence. Employers arriving from elsewhere in the EU are regularly caught out by it.
The atestat profesional is issued by the national road authority, separately for goods and for passengers, and renewed every five years. A shorter conversion route exists for a driver moving between the two, so an experienced goods driver is not starting again to work on passenger transport.
Foreign licences need checking before you make an offer. EU and EEA licences exchange without a test. Beyond that it depends on whether the issuing country appears on the convention or reciprocity lists, and where it does not the driver sits the Romanian theory and practical examination, which they may now do without compulsory driving school.
Several of the countries Romanian hauliers recruit from most heavily could not be found on those exchange lists. That is not a conclusion that they are absent, but it does mean the question has to be settled for the specific country before a contract is signed, not assumed.
A professional qualification obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised here. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe takes the Romanian qualification whatever they held before.
This is where the real timeline lives, and it is longer than most employers expect. The driver attestation that a Romanian operator needs in order to put a third country national on international work requires a Romanian licence and the professional qualification. A newly arrived driver has neither. The tachograph card also requires the work authorisation first. So the sequence is admission, then licence, then qualification, then attestation, and an employer who budgets only for the visa will be short by months.
One thing works in your favour. The professional examinations have been made available in English, which was done specifically to serve drivers recruited from South and South East Asia, so the qualification stage no longer requires Romanian first.
Unlike several other member states, the forklift authorisation in Romania is a genuine state authorisation issued to the individual rather than a permission the employer grants. ADR is required where the load needs it. Verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.
Prahova is the county the DN1 tonnage restriction is really about, because both restricted sections meet on its territory at Ploiești. Vehicles of seven and a half tonnes and over are kept off the road running south towards the Otopeni boundary and off the road running north towards Brașov, through the working day on most weekdays and across the weekend, and the two lengths are not identical: the southern one allows nothing at all between Friday and the end of Sunday, while the northern one leaves a brief overnight window on two of those nights. The lawful alternative is the motorway corridor, which runs up from the capital and continues north east from the junction at Dumbrava in this county, so long distance heavy traffic has a continuous motorway route where the national road is closed to it. International freight retains a narrow concession for movement between the nearest junction with another national road and its own loading point or customs point, which is local access rather than permission to transit. The measure has been relaxed before while works closed an alternative route, so treat it as a standing administrative measure to re-check rather than a fixed feature of the map.

Employers in Prahova can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, pay information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the base or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Romanian driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, whether the work is intern or extern, the atestat position, and salary and diurna stated separately.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking licence categories and the atestat position, and meeting all Romanian employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.
Employers must not request unlawful recruitment or application payments from candidates.
It publishes driver vacancies and nothing else. You compose the advert, it goes live, and drivers searching for work in this county see it. Applications come to you directly, with no intermediary reading them, no shortlist and no placement fee. If a candidate needs permission to work, FastDriver.eu can offer process guidance and document coordination, but only under a separate agreement and never with a promised outcome.
Not in any form. It is neither a recruitment agency nor an agent de munca temporara, and the difference matters in Romania because licensed placement agencies carry a regulated role in bringing in third country workers. The portal never employs a driver, never hires one out and never joins the employment contract. Interviewing, selecting and employing remain entirely your company's work.
Because the county's industry makes it so. Petroleum accounts for close to half of Prahova's industrial production, the county holds Romania's main oil reserves, and chemicals, rubber and plastics tenants sit across its parks. That mix generates tank and packaged dangerous goods movement as a structural feature rather than as occasional work, so the tank variant of ADR is the single most useful thing a driver here can hold.
Romania's second largest refinery, Petrobrazi, stands at Brazi with a nameplate of several million tonnes a year, covering roughly a third of national fuel demand. Ploiești has historically held further refining capacity and Câmpina another plant, which is why the county became the refining centre. Operating status across those older sites is not settled in public reporting, so plan against the Brazi capacity rather than against the full historic list.
Across twelve industrial parks, more than any other county in Romania, employing roughly twelve thousand people between them. Parcul Industrial Ploiești runs to over two hundred hectares across four zones, two of them fully occupied, and Ploiești West Park is a private logistics estate of about two hundred and ninety hectares. Sectors include petroleum equipment, automotive components, packaging, concrete, plastics and logistics.
It is one of the deepest industrial labour pools in Romania. More than a hundred and fifteen thousand county residents work in industry, which is around eight per cent of national industrial output from a single county. The county's largest single employer, Yazaki Romania, is in automotive components. For a haulier that cuts both ways: the pool understands shift work, but the plants compete for the same people and offer a fixed site rather than a cab.
It gives heavy vehicles a lawful route where the national road denies them one. The long distance motorway running north east begins at a junction in this county and connects onward to the route from the capital, so continuous motorway running is now available on that axis. The restriction on the parallel national road and the motorway corridor are best read together, because one explains the other.
Both, and that is unusual among the counties around the capital. Ploiești appears in commuting research as a city that draws workers in, not only as a town that sends them out, while București pulls commuters from up to a hundred kilometres away, which reaches this county comfortably. Price a Prahova vacancy against industrial employers next door as well as against the capital.
A separate attestation on top of the ordinary professional qualification. The national framework for professional training covers drivers of oversize and overweight vehicles as a distinct category alongside goods and passenger drivers and dangerous goods drivers. For a county that manufactures oil extraction equipment that is worth naming in an advert, because the document is not something a general categoria C+E holder will already have.
As two separate figures. For a Romanian operator running on domestic payroll the basic salary and the diurnă externă are different things, and the daily allowance is a very large part of what the driver actually receives, so a single monthly line makes a strong offer look weak. State the basic pay, state the allowance per calendar day abroad and name the currency of each. No figures appear on this page.
Lower than most adverts assume. Categoria C and C+E start at twenty one, but that drops to eighteen for a driver holding the professional competence certificate, and the equivalent passenger reduction takes the bus categories from twenty four down to twenty one. Screening at twenty one therefore excludes a cohort that Romanian training providers have been producing for some time.
Two annual assessments rather than one. A professional driver carries both a medical opinion and a psychological opinion, each renewed yearly, and the heavy categories sit in the stricter of the two clinical groups. That psychological opinion also forms part of the file when a foreign licence is exchanged. Candidates arriving from countries with no equivalent requirement will not have budgeted for either, and neither can be produced retrospectively.
It depends on the issuing country. Licences from EU and EEA states exchange without any test. Beyond that, exchange without examination depends on whether the issuing state appears on the convention or reciprocity annexes, and several of the countries Romanian hauliers recruit from most heavily could not be found on those lists. A driver whose licence cannot be exchanged sits the Romanian theory and practical examination, now without compulsory driving school.
None could be found, and the safe assumption is that no recognition route exists. A qualification obtained in another EU or EEA state travels on the licence and does not need redoing. A driver qualified outside that area should be planned on taking the Romanian certificate afresh with the national road authority, and examinations have been made available in English specifically to serve drivers recruited from South and South East Asia.
Higher than most hauliers clear. Filing directly requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published threshold and a financial guarantee for each foreign worker. Most Romanian road freight operators sit below that headcount, which means the route in runs through a licensed placement agency instead. That single fact decides how a small or mid sized Prahova haulier should approach third country recruitment at all.
The day before work starts, not afterwards. The employment contract must be transmitted to the national register of employees before the driver's first shift, and the register itself changed name and platform recently, so older guidance names a system that has been retired. Fines for undeclared work are heavy per person and subject to a high cumulative cap, which makes the sequence worth building into the onboarding checklist.
Tank work out of the refining belt, packaged dangerous goods, industrial park curtainsider traffic or international running: state the categoria, the ADR variant, the pattern and the hours, and let Prahova drivers come to you.
Prahova employers recruit, select and employ their own drivers; the portal publishes the vacancy and stops there.
