For Brașov Employers
Brașov carries more driver demand than any other county in this region and has no motorway at all, which is the contradiction every roster here has to absorb. Components and aerospace parts move in and out of the industrial park at Ghimbav, wholesale grocery and pharmaceutical distribution run from the city, and the road south towards Ploiești is closed to heavy vehicles for most of the week. Employers publish a genuine vacancy here, state the category and the atestat, and interview and hire for themselves.
One genuine vacancy • Candidates reply to you, not to us • Permit guidance under a separate agreement
Brașov is the largest economy of the six Centru counties and the least served by motorway, with its freight weight sitting at Ghimbav and its labour reserve sitting in rural communes rather than in the city.
Put the vacancy up at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/romania. Name categoria C+E, categoria C or categoria B, say whether the atestat profesional and a valid card tahograf are required on day one, and above all state whether the pattern is nights, because on the Bucharest corridor that is not a preference.
What FastDriver.eu is not: an employer of drivers, a labour supplier, a recruitment agency or an agent de munca temporara. No driver is ever on its books and none is hired out to a Brașov company. It carries the advert you wrote and the application reaches you unfiltered.
A local point that changes planning: the industrial park at Ghimbav provides extensive truck parking on site and sits on the E60 and E80 routes, about a kilometre from the county airport. Background for employers is on the Romania employer page.
Brașov employers recruit domestic categoria C+E drivers, international TIR drivers, tipper and construction materials drivers, plant traffic drivers around Ghimbav, and a large volume of categoria B distribution and courier drivers in the city.
Unusual for this region: domestic categoria C+E work in Brașov is advertised well above the county average net wage, so intern roles compete with pe comunitate offers rather than losing to them. Curtainsider and general freight, driver home far more often than on international work.
International categoria C+E work is strongly represented here alongside the domestic market, including campaigns run by operators based outside the county. Extended spells away are the norm. State the rotation, the trailer type and whether ADR is wanted, and quote the diurnă separately from salary.
Tipper work on categoria C+E is advertised domestically in this county, feeding construction materials and quarry traffic. Discharge technique, site access and load distribution matter more than motorway hours, and almost none of this work leaves the county, which suits a driver who wants to sleep at home.
The industrial park at Ghimbav runs roughly fourteen tenants and around six and a half thousand jobs, Airbus and Schaeffler among them, on components schedules that reward punctuality against a slot. Categoria C+E and categoria C, with extensive truck parking provided on the site itself.
Categoria B is the single largest licence group in the county's driver adverts, covering city distribution, parcel rounds and platform courier work. Strictly intern and home nightly. Say the vehicle type and whether the work is employed or collaboration, because both appear in this market.
The honest advert wins here. If the Bucharest leg means sustained night work, write that in the first lines rather than the small print, because a driver who discovers it in week two leaves in week three.
Brașov is a small county holding a large population, with the highest density of the six Centru counties by a wide margin. The south is Carpathian, the centre is the Brașov depression, the west is the Olt valley, and the Perșani mountains sit between them.
Almost all driver demand sits in the city itself. The rest appears at Codlea, Ghimbav, Cristian, Prejmer, Târlungeni, Făgăraș, Sâmbăta de Sus and Poiana Mărului, so a depot outside the city still draws from a named handful of settlements.
The southern gateway is the climb towards Ploiești, flanked by the Bucegi and Piatra Mare ranges. It is the only practical road link to the capital for this county and it carries a standing tonnage restriction on heavy vehicles.
Westward along the Olt valley sits Făgăraș, with the Făgăraș mountains behind it. A connection is under construction at the Boița junction near Sibiu, but its route and timetable are not established and should not be built into a plan.
The county airport at Ghimbav is new, and no freight operation or tonnage is documented at it. Its relevance to drivers is proximity to the industrial park, roughly a kilometre away, rather than any cargo handling work.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital ring, the Black Sea port, the western gateway counties and the eastern border. Open another county to see the hiring information that applies there.
Romanian drivers search in Romanian. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market.
Sofer profesionist is the dominant advert title. Sofer TIR signals international work and is read that way immediately. Sofer camion and sofer de distributie name the vehicle and the job. Conducator auto is the formal register that appears in documents and regulations rather than in adverts.
Intern or extern is the first thing a Romanian driver looks for, because it decides whether they are home each night or away for weeks. Put it in the headline. An advert that leaves it out collects applications from people who withdraw once they find out.
Pe comunitate is the phrase that signals the well paid international segment. It is worth using where it is true, and worth avoiding where it is not, because drivers treat it as a promise about earnings.
Write the licence as C+E. That form appears far more often in real adverts than CE, by a wide margin, and writing it the other way marks an advert as drafted by someone outside the trade.
The qualification is the atestat profesional, for marfa or for persoane. Adverts list it alongside the card tahograf and ADR where the load requires it. Name only what the role genuinely needs.
Pay needs two numbers, not one. Salary and diurna are quoted separately in Romanian adverts, and for international work the daily allowance is a very large part of what a driver actually takes home. An advert that gives only the salary reads as badly paid even when it is not.
Romanian drivers read an advert for the route, the vehicle, the time away and the two pay figures. An advert that answers those four things gets better applications than one that lists benefits.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Romanian vacancies.
Start by ignoring most of what is published about this, because the system changed. The separate work permit that employers used to apply for has been abolished and replaced by a single application filed on a state platform. The old route was switched off months before the new platform opened, so guidance written before the change is not just dated, it describes a procedure that no longer exists.
Drivers sit on the shortage occupations list, which is the gate for the main employment route. For a haulier that is genuinely good news and it is the part of the system working in your favour.
The real barrier is not the paperwork. Filing directly requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published threshold and a financial guarantee for each worker. Most Romanian hauliers sit below that headcount, which means they cannot file at all and must go through a licensed placement agency instead. Check which side of that line your company falls on before you plan anything else, because it changes the whole approach.
The annual quota is a single national figure rather than a transport allocation, and it was cut rather than raised. A large share of it is consumed well before the year ends, so an application late in the cycle competes for what is left.
Employers in Brașov may receive applications from drivers based in Romania, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Romania without an authorisation. A Moldovan national holding Romanian citizenship is an EU citizen and needs nothing, while one without it faces full external border checks, because the Romanian border with Moldova is now a Schengen external frontier. The difference is large and it is worth establishing early in a conversation rather than late.
The employment contract has to reach the national register before the driver starts work, not afterwards. The register changed name and platform recently, and the penalties for undeclared work are severe with a high ceiling, so this is not a formality to leave until the first week.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. A Romanian driver reads it first, and C+E in the headline tells them immediately whether the job is theirs.
Freight work uses C and C+E, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C1 and C1E open at eighteen, C and C+E at twenty one and reduce to eighteen for a driver holding the professional qualification. D and DE open at twenty four and reduce to twenty one on the same basis. Heavy categories run five years.
Romania asks for something most member states do not. A professional driver needs an annual medical check and an annual psychological check, and the psychological opinion is also part of the file for exchanging a foreign licence. Employers arriving from elsewhere in the EU are regularly caught out by it.
The atestat profesional is issued by the national road authority, separately for goods and for passengers, and renewed every five years. A shorter conversion route exists for a driver moving between the two, so an experienced goods driver is not starting again to work on passenger transport.
Foreign licences need checking before you make an offer. EU and EEA licences exchange without a test. Beyond that it depends on whether the issuing country appears on the convention or reciprocity lists, and where it does not the driver sits the Romanian theory and practical examination, which they may now do without compulsory driving school.
Several of the countries Romanian hauliers recruit from most heavily could not be found on those exchange lists. That is not a conclusion that they are absent, but it does mean the question has to be settled for the specific country before a contract is signed, not assumed.
A professional qualification obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised here. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe takes the Romanian qualification whatever they held before.
This is where the real timeline lives, and it is longer than most employers expect. The driver attestation that a Romanian operator needs in order to put a third country national on international work requires a Romanian licence and the professional qualification. A newly arrived driver has neither. The tachograph card also requires the work authorisation first. So the sequence is admission, then licence, then qualification, then attestation, and an employer who budgets only for the visa will be short by months.
One thing works in your favour. The professional examinations have been made available in English, which was done specifically to serve drivers recruited from South and South East Asia, so the qualification stage no longer requires Romanian first.
Unlike several other member states, the forklift authorisation in Romania is a genuine state authorisation issued to the individual rather than a permission the employer grants. ADR is required where the load needs it. Verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.
The standing tonnage restriction on DN1 is the most useful scheduling fact on this page. Vehicles of seven and a half tonnes and over are restricted on two sections, from the Otopeni boundary to Ploiești and from Ploiești to Brașov, and the northern end of the second section lies inside this county, so Brașov's whole southern gateway is governed by it. Add the permitted windows together and only a small fraction of the week is lawfully available to a heavy vehicle on that road, with a single short window across the entire weekend and nothing at all on the Sunday. International freight operators have a narrow access concession between the nearest national road junction and their own address, workplace or loading point, which is local access rather than a right of transit. A Brașov driver on domestic work towards the capital is therefore on nights by law, not by choice, so recruit for nights explicitly. The restriction stands by administrative act and can be altered, so confirm its current terms with the road authority before a roster is built on it.

Employers in Brașov can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, pay information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the base or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Romanian driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, whether the work is intern or extern, the atestat position, and salary and diurna stated separately.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking licence categories and the atestat position, and meeting all Romanian employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.
Employers must not request unlawful recruitment or application payments from candidates.
It is a job portal built for professional drivers and nothing else. You compose the advert, it goes live, and drivers searching for work in Brașov see it. Replies come to you with no intermediary reading them first, no shortlisting and no placement fee. If a candidate needs permission to work, process guidance and document coordination sit under a separate agreement.
Neither. It is not a recruitment agency or an agent de munca temporara, two categories that matter in Romania because licensed agencies play a regulated role in third-country hiring. FastDriver.eu never employs a driver, never hires one out and never becomes a party to the contract. Your company handles selection and employment entirely.
Because it governs the county’s only practical link to the capital. Heavy vehicles of seven and a half tonnes and over are barred from that road for most of the working week and across almost all of the weekend, so the lawful running time left is a small slice of the week. Any schedule assuming a daytime run to Bucharest is unlawful for such a vehicle.
There is none, and that is the county’s structural problem. Brașov has the largest economy of these six counties, while its links south to the capital and west to Sibiu remain national roads. A connection is under construction at the Boița junction near Sibiu. Still, its route and timetable are unestablished, so treat journey-time variability here as permanent rather than temporary.
At Ghimbav, in a privately run industrial park of about sixty hectares with roughly fourteen tenants and around six and a half thousand jobs, Airbus and Schaeffler among them. The park sits on the E60 and E80 routes, has its own power, gas, and water supply, and provides extensive truck parking, which is unusual enough in this region to warrant mention in an advert.
Smaller and harder to reach than the headline rate suggests. Registered unemployment is the joint lowest of these six counties. Still, roughly seven in ten of those registered live in rural communes; only about one in seven is under twenty-five; most receive no benefit at all; and only a small minority are rated easily employable. Recruitment means reaching rural commuters.
It is growing, which is rare in Romania. The latest population estimate for the county sits above the figure recorded at the last census, making Brașov one of only two counties in this region where that is true. For an employer, this means the candidate pool is not shrinking relative to the vacancy, though it does not make the market loose.
Directly, because Sibiu is close and pays more. Brașov tracks the national average on wages while Sibiu leads this region, so an employer who benchmarks against the Brașov county average will lose candidates westward. The defensible response is to price against the neighbouring county rather than the local one, and to say what the package contains.
One of real national scale is registered in Cristian and ranks among the three largest road freight operators in Romania by turnover, with several hundred employees. Beyond it,, the county runs a long tail of small operators on vans,seven-and-a-half-tonnee rigid,s and a handful of artics. Most driver jobs here are not at a large haulier.
It is mountain work, and on the capital corridor it is mountain work at night, because the lawful window on that road falls after dark. The crossing towards Ploiești runs between the Bucegi and Piatra Mare ranges. Romania’s inter-tyre duty is condition-based rather than calendar-based and switches on with snow, ice,,or sleet, whatever the month.
Not as a freight terminal. It is a new airport, and no cargo operation, tonnage, or freight schedule is documented there, so nothing about air-handling work should be assumed from its presence. It anchors the logistics cluster around the industrial park about a kilometre away. That cluster is where the driver jobs are.
Keep salary and diurnă apart. The daily allowance for days worked abroad makes up a large part of what a Romanian international driver takes home, so folding it into one monthly salary figure makes a competitive offer look poor. State the basic pay, state the allowance per calendar day away, and say which currency each is in. Figures do not belong on this page.
A single submission through a new state platform, which replaced the aviz when it was abolished. The two systems did not overlap: the old route closed months before the new platform opened, leaving a period with no working way in. Published guidance describing an aviz is therefore out of date, and processing expectations should be checked rather than assumed.
Four gates rather than one. Immigration permission comes first, then a Romanian driving licence by exchange or examination, then the professional qualification, then the driver attestation the operator holds for that named driver. The tachograph card itself cannot be issued until the work authorisation exists. Budgeting only for the visa understates the timeline by months.
Before the first shift, not after it. The employment contract must be transmitted to the national register of employees the day before activity starts, and the register recently changed its name and platform, so older checklists point to a system that no longer exists. Penalties for undeclared work are severe and carry a high cumulative ceiling per employer.
They do. Goods vehicles between two and a half and three and a half tonnes engaged in international carriage within the EU fall inside the tachograph obligation, and driving in international traffic without a driver card is not permitted. That matters here because a substantial part of the county’s categoria B advert volume is van work, some of it crossing borders.
Plant traffic at Ghimbav, tipper work, city distribution or a night pattern towards the capital: state the category, the atestat, the rotation and the hours honestly, and let Brașov drivers come to you.
Brașov employers do their own recruiting, selecting and employing; the portal publishes the vacancy and stops there.
