For Brăila Employers
Brăila sits where the Bărăgan Plain meets the maritime Danube, and the county's driver work follows that pairing closely. Cereals move off some of the best arable land in Romania towards the silos and the quays, cement arrives over the river and scrap leaves the same way, and the only bridge across the maritime Danube now lands in this county. Employers hiring here advertise a real vacancy, name the licence category and the atestat, and interview the applicants themselves.
Your advert, your wording • Applications come straight to you • Work permission guidance under a separate agreement
Brăila is an agricultural county that keeps its industry and well over half its people inside a single city. Food processing, textiles and mechanical components sit in Brăila itself, and what leaves the county by road is overwhelmingly bulk.
Publish the vacancy at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/romania, naming categoria C+E or categoria C, saying whether a current atestat profesional marfă and a valid card tahograf are needed from the first shift, and marking the work intern or extern in the title.
FastDriver.eu carries the advert and stops there. It is not a recruitment agency and it is not an agent de munca temporara, so it never employs a driver, never hands you a shortlist and takes nothing on a hire. The contract runs from your company to the driver.
One Brăila peculiarity: rigid categoria C is sought here about as often as categoria C+E, which is not the pattern in the rest of this region, so an articulated-only advert narrows the field unnecessarily. Further detail sits on the Romania employer page.
Employers in Brăila recruit cereal and tipper drivers off the plain, port feed drivers on bulk and hooklift work, rigid drivers for city and county distribution, a courier layer on categoria B, and international drivers for the handful of operators running comunitate work from here.
The county's staple. Șofer profesionist on categoria C+E running tippers and walking floor trailers off the Bărăgan to silos, processors and the river quays. Mostly intern, with a hard harvest peak. Tipper and bulk discharge hours matter more here than general trailer mileage.
River cargo is road fed at the Romanian end. Categoria C+E or categoria C on tippers, hooklifts and walking floors, moving cement away from the quays and scrap towards them. Strictly intern work, driver home nightly, and load security on scrap is most of the skill.
A small extern segment runs from this county on categoria C+E, general and refrigerated, with the trip pattern set by the operator rather than the county. Use the words extern and pe comunitate in the advert, and state the rotation in weeks so a candidate can picture the month.
Rigid work is unusually prominent in Brăila and is worth advertising on its own. Categoria C on drawbar-free rigids serving the city, the towns and the communes, intern only, with multiple drops a day. Name the vehicle and the daily drop count rather than describing a route.
A visible three and a half tonne and courier layer operates inside Brăila, including platform delivery work where the driver supplies the vehicle and is paid weekly. Categoria B, intern, home every night. If your role is employed rather than platform work, say so in the first line.
The advert board in this county is small, so a vague vacancy competes badly. Say which trailer the driver will be on, say whether the run is intern or extern, and say where the vehicle is kept, because a Brăila candidate is comparing your advert against euro packages posted from elsewhere.
Brăila is flat, open and lopsided towards its own city. The Danube forms the eastern boundary and wraps the Great Brăila Island in three channels, the Siret and the Buzău rivers close the county off to the north, and everything else is Bărăgan plain with villages strung along the national roads.
Brăila city holds the industry, the port and the clear majority of the county's driver adverts. A depot anywhere else in the county draws on commuting villages rather than on a second labour pool, because there is no second town of comparable size.
Galați lies only a short run away and competes directly for the same drivers with a larger advert board and a higher average wage, so a Brăila vacancy is effectively advertising into two counties at once whether it means to or not.
Eastwards the bridge takes a laden vehicle into Tulcea county and on towards Dobrogea and the coast, which is a route that simply did not exist a few years ago and has changed what a Brăila depot can reach in a shift.
The Great Brăila Island is agricultural land inside the river channels rather than a settlement area, so loads from it are seasonal farm collections reached on local roads, not steady distribution runs.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital ring, the Black Sea port, the western gateway counties and the eastern border. Open another county to see the hiring information that applies there.
Romanian drivers search in Romanian. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market.
Sofer profesionist is the dominant advert title. Sofer TIR signals international work and is read that way immediately. Sofer camion and sofer de distributie name the vehicle and the job. Conducator auto is the formal register that appears in documents and regulations rather than in adverts.
Intern or extern is the first thing a Romanian driver looks for, because it decides whether they are home each night or away for weeks. Put it in the headline. An advert that leaves it out collects applications from people who withdraw once they find out.
Pe comunitate is the phrase that signals the well paid international segment. It is worth using where it is true, and worth avoiding where it is not, because drivers treat it as a promise about earnings.
Write the licence as C+E. That form appears far more often in real adverts than CE, by a wide margin, and writing it the other way marks an advert as drafted by someone outside the trade.
The qualification is the atestat profesional, for marfa or for persoane. Adverts list it alongside the card tahograf and ADR where the load requires it. Name only what the role genuinely needs.
Pay needs two numbers, not one. Salary and diurna are quoted separately in Romanian adverts, and for international work the daily allowance is a very large part of what a driver actually takes home. An advert that gives only the salary reads as badly paid even when it is not.
Romanian drivers read an advert for the route, the vehicle, the time away and the two pay figures. An advert that answers those four things gets better applications than one that lists benefits.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Romanian vacancies.
Start by ignoring most of what is published about this, because the system changed. The separate work permit that employers used to apply for has been abolished and replaced by a single application filed on a state platform. The old route was switched off months before the new platform opened, so guidance written before the change is not just dated, it describes a procedure that no longer exists.
Drivers sit on the shortage occupations list, which is the gate for the main employment route. For a haulier that is genuinely good news and it is the part of the system working in your favour.
The real barrier is not the paperwork. Filing directly requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published threshold and a financial guarantee for each worker. Most Romanian hauliers sit below that headcount, which means they cannot file at all and must go through a licensed placement agency instead. Check which side of that line your company falls on before you plan anything else, because it changes the whole approach.
The annual quota is a single national figure rather than a transport allocation, and it was cut rather than raised. A large share of it is consumed well before the year ends, so an application late in the cycle competes for what is left.
Employers in Brăila may receive applications from drivers based in Romania, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Romania without an authorisation. A Moldovan national holding Romanian citizenship is an EU citizen and needs nothing, while one without it faces full external border checks, because the Romanian border with Moldova is now a Schengen external frontier. The difference is large and it is worth establishing early in a conversation rather than late.
The employment contract has to reach the national register before the driver starts work, not afterwards. The register changed name and platform recently, and the penalties for undeclared work are severe with a high ceiling, so this is not a formality to leave until the first week.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. A Romanian driver reads it first, and C+E in the headline tells them immediately whether the job is theirs.
Freight work uses C and C+E, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C1 and C1E open at eighteen, C and C+E at twenty one and reduce to eighteen for a driver holding the professional qualification. D and DE open at twenty four and reduce to twenty one on the same basis. Heavy categories run five years.
Romania asks for something most member states do not. A professional driver needs an annual medical check and an annual psychological check, and the psychological opinion is also part of the file for exchanging a foreign licence. Employers arriving from elsewhere in the EU are regularly caught out by it.
The atestat profesional is issued by the national road authority, separately for goods and for passengers, and renewed every five years. A shorter conversion route exists for a driver moving between the two, so an experienced goods driver is not starting again to work on passenger transport.
Foreign licences need checking before you make an offer. EU and EEA licences exchange without a test. Beyond that it depends on whether the issuing country appears on the convention or reciprocity lists, and where it does not the driver sits the Romanian theory and practical examination, which they may now do without compulsory driving school.
Several of the countries Romanian hauliers recruit from most heavily could not be found on those exchange lists. That is not a conclusion that they are absent, but it does mean the question has to be settled for the specific country before a contract is signed, not assumed.
A professional qualification obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised here. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe takes the Romanian qualification whatever they held before.
This is where the real timeline lives, and it is longer than most employers expect. The driver attestation that a Romanian operator needs in order to put a third country national on international work requires a Romanian licence and the professional qualification. A newly arrived driver has neither. The tachograph card also requires the work authorisation first. So the sequence is admission, then licence, then qualification, then attestation, and an employer who budgets only for the visa will be short by months.
One thing works in your favour. The professional examinations have been made available in English, which was done specifically to serve drivers recruited from South and South East Asia, so the qualification stage no longer requires Romanian first.
Unlike several other member states, the forklift authorisation in Romania is a genuine state authorisation issued to the individual rather than a permission the employer grants. ADR is required where the load needs it. Verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.
The bridge in this county is the only crossing of the maritime Danube sector, and since the ferry between Galați and the Tulcea bank was cut back to vehicles of three and a half tonnes and under, it is also the only route across for a laden lorry. For a Brăila operator that means a Danube crossing has no local alternative at all: if the bridge is closed or an incident blocks the approach, the diversion is not a few kilometres of river road but a long detour inland. Build that into the schedule rather than the contingency plan, and confirm current conditions on the crossing with the road administrator before committing a vehicle.

Employers in Brăila can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, pay information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the base or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Romanian driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, whether the work is intern or extern, the atestat position, and salary and diurna stated separately.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking licence categories and the atestat position, and meeting all Romanian employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.

Four strands, and they are smaller than the county’s size suggests. Cereal and bulk haulage off the Bărăgan; port feed work moving cement away from the quays and scrap toward them; rigid and three-and-a-half-tonne distribution in and around the city; and a thin international segment. Rigid categoria C work is more prominent here than in neighbouring counties.
For anything above three and a half tonnes,s it is. The ferry that ran between Galați and the Tulcea bank was cut back to light vehicles only, with its capacity and operating hours reduced at the same time, so lorries are excluded. That leaves one crossing of the maritime Danube and no local workaround if it is unavailable.
A snapshot from a single recent working day gives the flavour better than a cargo table would: two vessels alongside at once, one discharging several thousand tonnes of cement from Turkey, the other loading scrap iron for Turkey, roughly ten thousand tonnes between them. Both cargoes are road-fed or road-distributed at the Romanian end, which is tipper, hookli, ft anwalking-flooror work.
Not across the river overall. The maritime Danube ports have lost roughly two-thirds of their combined traffic in recent years. Brăila is the exception, rising against that trend and more than doubling from a very low point, though it remains well below its earlier level. Treat river work as a real but modest part of the local haulage picture.
Shallow, and worth knowing before planning a campaign. Only two employers appear in the county’s driver adverts, and both also advertise in Constanța and Galați, so the same recruiters show up in three counties at once. An advert count here overstates the number of distinct local employers competing for drivers.
Ask for what the vehicle needs, and note that this county is unusual. Rigid categoria C appears about as often as categoria C+E on the local board, with a further layer on categoria B, so a county that looks like articulated country on paper has a genuine rigid market. Insisting on C+E for a rigid role removes candidates for no operational reason.
Sharply seasonal and weather-dependent on top of that. The Bărăgan is among Romania's best cereal grounds, but it isdrought-prone andd relies on irrigation, so the harvest peak is both concentrated and variablefrom yearr toyear.r A fleet plan built on steady year-round bulk volumes will be wrong here in both directions.
It publishes the vacancy you write and puts it in front of drivers looking for work in this county. Applications arrive with you, not with us. No candidate database, no shortlisting, and no fee tied to a hire. If someone you want to hire needs permission to work, we provide process guidance and document coordination under a separate agreement.
It is neither, and in Romania the difference is substantive rather than cosmetic, because licensed placement agencies are a regulated route into third-country hiring. FastDriver.eu does not employ drivers, does not supply them to a Brăila operator and takes no part in selection. You advertise, you interview, you employ.
Show the basic salary and the diurnă as two separate lines, with the diurnă described as a daily allowance for days spent abroad. For a Romanian international driver, that allowance is a very large share of take-home pay, so an advert with a single monthly figure reads as domestic work at domestic rates. No numbers belong in a page like this, but the structure does.
The aviz de angajare was abolished, and a single application on a new state platform replaced it. The old route closed months before the new platform opened, so there was a period with no working way in, and guidance published before the change is now misleading. Confirm current timings before you make an offer rather than relying on what is online.
Only above a threshold that most local operators sit below. Filing directly requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published figure and a financial guarantee for each worker. Below that line, the hire has to run through a licensed placement agency. Work out which side your company falls on before you plan an intake, because it changes the cost and timetable.
Yes, and that listing is the gateway to the main employment route, so it genuinely helps a Brăila employer. What it does not provide is reserved places. The annual quota is a single national figure rather than a sectoral allocation; it was reduced, not increased, and a large share is used up well before the year is out, so timing matters as much as eligibility.
Longer than the immigration paperwork alone implies. A Romanian operator’s driver attestation for a third-country national requires a Romanian licence and professional qualification. At the same time, the tachograph card cannot be issued before the work authorisation exists. The real order is admission, licence, qualification, attestation, which runs to months.
Two, renewed annually: a medical opinion and a psychological opinion. The psychological check is the one that surprises employers from other member states, and it also forms part of the file for exchanging a foreign licence. Neither can be produced after the event, so say in the advert who pays and build the appointments into the start date.
EU and EEA licences are exchanged without any examination. Beyond that, it depends on whether the issuing state appears on the convention or reciprocity annexes, and several of the countries Romanian hauliers recruit from most heavily were not listed in the readable versions. If the state is not listed, the driver takes the Romanian theory and practical test instead, which no longer requires compulsory driving school.
Cereal and tipper work, port feed loads, rigid distribution or comunitate runs: set out the category, the atestat, the trailer and whether the job is intern or extern, and let drivers around Brăila apply to you directly.
Employers in Brăila recruit, select and employ their own drivers; FastDriver.eu only publishes the vacancy.
