Hire Professional Drivers in Nouvelle-Aquitaine

It is a job portal built for professional drivers and nothing wider. You write the vacancy, set the pay and terms, and publish it; drivers looking for work in Nouvelle-Aquitaine see it and apply directly to you. Nobody screens applicants on your behalf, and no fee applies to a hire. It is not, and the distinction matters here because interim contracts fill a large share of Bordeaux driver work. FastDriver.eu does not employ drivers, does not put anyone at your disposal, does not invoice you for hours worked and never becomes a party to the employment relationship. You advertise, you select, and the contract sits between you and the driver.

Drivers who hold the licence and qualification your advert names and who have the right to work in France. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals have that right automatically and need no permit, no residence document and no registration. For everyone else, the question is whether they already hold a residence document authorising work; if not, you, as the employer, must submit the work authorisationapplicationr.

You file it online through the ANEF portal run by the Ministry of the Interior. A permanent contract points to the carte de séjour salarié route, which becomes a multi-year card on renewal if the employment continues; a fixed-term contract points to travailleur temporaire instead. The acknowledgement email is not permission to start work, and two months of silence from the prefecture counts as a refusal.

Not on the list as it stands. The metiers en tension list is fixed by arrêté with a separate annexe for each region, and the conducteurs routiers entry does not appear under Nouvelle-Aquitaine. An employer here must therefore show the post was advertised with the public employment service for three consecutive months within the preceding six months before authorisation was granted. Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur is the exception among metropolitan regions at present, and the arrêtés are revised from time to time.

Enough for a driver to compare it. The authorisation condition is the SMIC or the rate set by the convention collective nationale des transports routiers, whichever is higher; for drivers, the collective agreement rate is generally the binding one. Beyond that minimum, French drivers weigh the frais de route, the paniers and the decouche allowances as heavily as the monthly figure, which matters in a region where overnight work is common.

Permis C covers rigid lorries, permis CE articulated combinations, permis D coaches and buses, with D1 and D1E for smaller passenger vehicles. Baseline minimum ages are eighteen for C1 and C1E, twenty-one for C, CE, D1 and D1E, and twenty-four for D. A driver holding the initial professional qualification may drive C and CE from eighteen, so do not screen out candidates in their late teens automatically.

FIMO is the initial qualification, at least 140 hours in a centre approved by the regional prefect, or at least 280 hours through the longer diploma and professional title route. FCO is the periodic refresher, 35 hours every five years, and professional driving becomes unlawful the day it lapses. The qualification is carried on the carte de qualification de conducteur and shown on the licence as code 95.

The licence sometimes, the qualification never. Exchange from outside the EU and EEA depends on the interior ministry’s reciprocity list: heavy categories can only be exchanged where the country is marked Toutes, and the request must be made within a year of the driver establishing residence. France does not recognise professional qualifications obtained outside the EU or EEA, so a FIMO taken in France is required, regardless of the driver’s experience.

Because the work here is not pure trunking. Titles in the Bordeaux market run to benne, citerne, caisses mobiles, porte-char and travaux publics, meaning tipper, tanker, swap body, heavy plant carrier and civil engineering. Construction firms and hauliers are chasing CE holders who can also operate a loader or handling machine. The handling assessment proves competence; the autorisation de conduite you issue permits the work.

Be precise, and answer the overnight question in the first lines. Bordeaux to Bayonne, Limoges, or Poitiers is not a commutable distance, and a driver applying from the Corrèze will want to know whether the run ends at a depot or a hotel. Name the base commune, the axis and whether the job involves decouche. Vagueness on that point costs applications here.

Only lightly, as things stand. The Bordeaux scheme restricts unclassified vehicles inside the rocade, the mildest arrangement among the large southern cities, and Pau operates a small weekday scheme across a handful of communes. A lorry that cannot enter Lyon or Grenoble may still be able t  woto Bordeaux. The national framework governing these zones is under review, so the position is not settled and should be checked against each city’s own scheme.

Pre-haulage and post-haulage around four commercial ports. La Rochelle handles paper pulp imports and cereal exports alongside hydrocarbons and forest products; Bordeaux takes hydrocarbons in and cereals out; Bayonne moves maize meal, fertilisers, chemicals, and crude; and Rochefort Tonnay-Charente handles cereals, timber, sand, clay, and cement. Each implies a different vehicle, so name the commodity rather than writing port work.

It does, because a Bayonne or Landes operation is running international rather than purely domestic work. Where a French haulier employs a driver who is not a national of an EEA state on international transport or cabotage, an attestation de conducteur routier is required, issued by the DREAL. That sits separately from the licence, the icationqualification, and the authorisationonitit is the document most often forgotten.

No number would be honest. Nobody publishes a processing standard for the autorisation de travail, and the only fixed period in the process is that two months of prefectural silence counts as a refusal. On the recruitment side,e the timing depends on your pay, your shift pattern, how precisely the advert is written and, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, whether the driver is expected to be away overnight.
