Bilingual adverts perform well for roles based in Brussels or on the language boundary. Elsewhere, write in the language your depot actually operates in and say plainly which languages the job requires.

For employment beyond ninety days, a third-country national normally needs a single permit. The Belgian employer starts the application through the one-stop shop of the competent region, and the file then passes to the federal Immigration Office.
Work authorisation is a regional matter, so the conditions differ between Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels and the German-speaking Community. Freight roles normally call for C or CE, sometimes C1 or C1E for lighter rigid work. Passenger transport uses D or D1, with DE and D1E where a trailer is drawn. Van and courier work is usually category B.
Professional competence, known as vakbekwaamheid in Dutch and aptitude professionnelle in French, applies to most professional drivers in the C and D groups. It is shown by code 95 on the licence, or by a driver qualification card, and is renewed through thirty-five hours of periodic training every five years.
Check the Group 2 medical certificate as well. It runs on its own expiry date,, and a driver whose medical has lapsed cannot renew the licence, even with valid Code 95 traininm.
A driver card for the digital tachograph is needed for in-scope work, and ADR training is required for dangerous goods.
Experience expectations vary by operation rather than by law. Port and chemical work usually requires prior container or tanker handling experience, while distribution fleets often accept newly qualified drivers.
