Heavy Goods and International Drivers
Post vacancies for motorista de pesados and motorista TIR roles running the Iberian corridor into Spain and onward to France and central Europe. State the rotation and the time at home.
For Portuguese Employers
Publish your driver vacancies on FastDriver.eu, reach candidates across the Portuguese districts, elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets, and manage applications yourself. Where a candidate needs a residence visa, the process starts with your own vacancy advertising, so plan the sequence early.
Direct employer hiring • European and international reach • Residence visa and relocation guidance when required
FastDriver.eu connects Portuguese hauliers, forwarding companies, port logistics operators, bus companies and distribution businesses with drivers looking for work.
Publish a genuine vacancy, state the licence category and the CAM position, describe the routes, and receive applications directly. Say whether the work is national or runs into Spain and beyond, since the Iberian corridor changes the shape of the job. Browse current Portuguese listings at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/portugal.
FastDriver.eu is a specialised driver job portal. It is not a recruitment agency or a temporary work company, it does not employ drivers and it does not lease workers.
Your company reviews the applications, interviews the candidates, inspects the original licence and CAM documents, and signs the employment contract under Portuguese labour law. The hiring decision stays with you.
Portuguese employers recruit across international haulage into Spain and the rest of Europe, port drayage, national distribution and passenger transport. State the licence category and the route pattern.
Post vacancies for motorista de pesados and motorista TIR roles running the Iberian corridor into Spain and onward to France and central Europe. State the rotation and the time at home.
Advertise motorista de distribuicao positions serving retail, food and building supply customers, usually on a daily return pattern with handling duties.
Publish roles for motorista de autocarro on urban networks, intercity lines, school transport and the tourism coach work concentrated in Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve.
Advertise motorista de entregas and estafeta positions in parcel networks, food distribution and urban logistics across the two metropolitan areas.
Reach motorista ADR, cisterna and heavy transport drivers for fuel distribution, the petrochemical complex at Sines and project cargo work.
Use a job title only where it genuinely matches the role. Unrelated titles added for traffic produce applications you will only reject.
Mainland Portugal is divided into districts, with the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira alongside. Freight concentrates on the coastal strip and on the routes east into Spain.
Sines, Leixoes, Lisbon and Setubal handle container, bulk and energy traffic, generating drayage and long distance hinterland haulage.
Almost all Portuguese international road freight crosses Spain, which makes the border routes and the onward run to France central to long distance driver work.
Automotive assembly, moulds, footwear and textiles across the northern and central districts generate scheduled component and finished goods transport.
Wine, fresh produce and processed food move in temperature controlled vehicles on schedules set by harvest and export deadlines.
Each district has its own transport character. Naming it, and the depot town, helps candidates judge the commute and the kind of work on offer.
Portuguese drivers search in Portuguese, and the vocabulary distinguishes vehicle weight clearly.
Motorista de pesados is the standard term for heavy goods work, with motorista de ligeiros used for lighter vehicles. Motorista TIR still signals long distance international work.
Distribution roles are searched as motorista de distribuicao, which candidates understand to involve handling and a daily return.
Passenger roles use motorista de autocarro, while delivery work appears as motorista de entregas and estafeta.
Candidates almost always state their CAM, the certificate of driver aptitude, along with the licence category and ADR where held.
Publish in Portuguese for the domestic market. An English version widens the reach, and Portuguese also reaches a large candidate pool in Brazil and the Portuguese speaking countries of Africa, though visa rules for those candidates have tightened.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates in other parts of the world to discover and apply for suitable Portuguese vacancies.
Portuguese employers may receive applications from drivers based in Portugal, other EU and EEA countries, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and other eligible international markets.
EU and EEA citizens and Swiss nationals may work in Portugal without authorisation. Licence and CAM requirements still apply.
For third country nationals the sequence starts with your own vacancy. The role is advertised through the public employment service, and once the prescribed period has passed without a suitable candidate from the resident or EU pool, a declaration allows recruitment abroad. The candidate then applies for a residence visa and, after arrival, a residence permit from AIMA.
The framework has tightened. Family reunification now generally requires a period of prior residence, the job-seeker visa has been restricted to qualified professions defined by ministerial decree, and citizens of the Portuguese language countries must obtain the appropriate visa before entering rather than regularising afterwards. Confirm the current position before planning an intake. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
State the licence category and the CAM position together. Portuguese candidates read them as a pair.
Freight roles use C and CE, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1, with DE and D1E where a trailer is drawn. Delivery work sits in category B.
Professional drivers need the CAM, the certificate of driver aptitude, which corresponds to code 95 and is obtained through initial qualification and maintained by periodic training. It is issued separately for goods and for passenger transport.
A digital tachograph driver card is required for in scope work and ADR training for dangerous goods. For work running through Spain into France, check that the driver's documents cover the whole route.
Where a third country national drives for a Portuguese operator on international journeys within the Union, a driver attestation may also be needed.
Experience requirements are set by operators. International work looks for route and hours management on the Iberian corridor, distribution for handling and customer contact, while some fleets take drivers straight from CAM training. FastDriver.eu can present candidate information, but verifying original documents remains the employer's responsibility.
Publish driver vacancies in Portuguese or English with the licence category, CAM position and route type set out clearly.
Raise the visibility of international and seasonal roles that are slow to fill.
Applications reach your team directly, with no agency between you and the driver.
Support in reaching drivers who match your licence and route requirements, without any promise of a specific candidate.
Guidance on the vacancy advertising step, the declaration and the residence visa route.
Coordination of travel, arrival, tax number and social security registration steps when an international candidate is hired.
Employer options can be arranged around single vacancies, seasonal peaks or larger recruitment rounds, and are agreed separately with your company.
Specific adverts fill faster, and a properly documented vacancy also supports the declaration you will need if you recruit abroad.
Give the company name, the district and the depot the driver reports to, and say whether the work is national, Iberian or wider international.
State the vehicle type and licence category, whether the CAM is required at the start, and whether ADR or a tanker endorsement applies.
Say how many drivers you need, what experience you expect and what handling duties are involved.
Describe the schedule honestly, including nights away, and state pay and benefits, which must be at least at the national minimum where a visa application will follow.
Confirm the start date, and say whether you would consider candidates who need a residence visa, allowing for the advertising period first.
Your company sets and honours the final employment terms.
Tell us the role, the district, the licence category and how many drivers you need.
The vacancy goes live in Portuguese, English or both, and is promoted to relevant candidates.
Applications arrive directly for your team to assess.
You interview, inspect the original licence and CAM documents, and confirm route experience.
Your company issues the employment contract under Portuguese labour law.
Where recruitment abroad follows, the employment service declaration, the residence visa and the AIMA residence permit stages apply. Support can be agreed separately.
Work through these before publishing. The advertising step comes before the recruitment abroad, not after it.
The Portuguese employer is responsible for the following.
Employers who engage a foreign national without a valid title to remain face fines and can be made liable for wages owed and for costs connected with the worker's stay and removal. Since regularisation after entry has been narrowed, the visa should be in place before the driver travels rather than sorted out on arrival.
FastDriver.eu does not issue any government approval.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring outcomes, licence recognition, employment service declarations, residence visas, residence permits, processing times or continued employment.
