Truck and Heavy Goods Drivers
Post vacancies for truck and HGV driver roles serving the ports at Limassol and Larnaca, the construction sector and island wide distribution.
For Cypriot Employers
Publish your driver vacancies on FastDriver.eu, reach candidates across the districts, elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets, and manage applications yourself. Where a third country candidate is hired, Cyprus places some unusual duties on the employer, and the sections below set them out.
Direct employer hiring • European and international reach • District Labour Office, accommodation and guarantee guidance
FastDriver.eu connects Cypriot hauliers, port and forwarding operators, distribution companies, bus and coach operators and delivery businesses with drivers looking for work.
Publish a genuine vacancy, state the licence category, describe the routes and the shift pattern, and receive applications directly. Distances are short here, so the details that matter are the vehicle, the shift and whether the role is seasonal. Browse current listings at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/cyprus.
FastDriver.eu is a specialised driver job portal. It is not a recruitment agency or a temporary employment agency, it does not employ drivers and it does not lease workers.
Your company reviews the applications, interviews the candidates, inspects the original licence and code 95 documents, and signs the employment contract. Where a third country national is hired, your company also carries the permit duties.
Cypriot employers recruit across port haulage, construction supply, distribution and passenger transport, with a pronounced tourism season. State the licence category and the shift.
Post vacancies for truck and HGV driver roles serving the ports at Limassol and Larnaca, the construction sector and island wide distribution.
Advertise for bus drivers on the district networks and for coach and transfer drivers serving the airports, hotels and excursion market.
Publish roles for delivery and courier drivers in parcel networks, food and beverage distribution and retail supply across the coastal towns.
Advertise for tipper, mixer and aggregate drivers serving building activity, which runs at a high level around the main urban areas.
Reach ADR qualified drivers, fuel and tanker drivers and container drivers for the energy, aviation fuel and port sectors.
Be realistic about the market. Advertising for role types that do not exist on the island wastes your time and the candidate's.
The island is organised into districts. Transport activity concentrates on the southern coast, and this page addresses employers operating in the areas under the effective control of the Republic.
Limassol is the principal commercial port, with Larnaca handling additional cargo and cruise traffic. Both generate container drayage and onward distribution.
Larnaca and Paphos support air cargo trucking, aviation fuel movements and a heavy flow of transfer and coach work in season.
Building activity generates continuous demand for tipper, mixer and materials transport, concentrated around the coastal towns.
The tourism season lifts passenger transport, hotel supply and food distribution sharply between spring and autumn.
The island is small enough that the district matters less than the depot and the shift, but naming it still helps candidates picture the round.
Greek is the working language of most Cypriot employers, and English is very widely used, which makes the island unusually accessible to candidates from elsewhere.
Freight roles are advertised as truck driver or HGV driver, usually with the licence category attached, and candidates search in those terms in both languages.
Passenger roles use bus driver and coach driver, with transfer driver common in the tourism sector and highly seasonal.
Delivery work appears as delivery driver, van driver and courier, and it is among the highest volume searches on the island.
Candidates list the licence category and code 95, and add ADR where held. For coach work they usually state the languages they can serve customers in.
Publish in Greek for the domestic market and add an English version, which reaches both the resident international workforce and candidates elsewhere in the Union.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates in other parts of the world to discover and apply for suitable Cypriot vacancies.
Cypriot employers may receive applications from drivers based in Cyprus, other EU and EEA countries, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and other eligible international markets.
EU and EEA citizens and Swiss nationals may work in Cyprus without a permit. Licence and code 95 requirements still apply.
For third country nationals the employer starts by lodging the vacancy with the District Labour Offices of the Department of Labour, where a labour market test is carried out. Only after a positive answer are the specified employment contracts signed and stamped, and the employer then applies for the entry and residence permit.
Two duties here are unusual enough to surprise employers used to other member states. Your company must provide reasonable accommodation for the worker, and must put up a bank guarantee to cover repatriation. Budget for both at the point you decide to recruit, not afterwards. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
State the licence category, and raise one practical point early with any incoming candidate.
Cyprus drives on the left. A driver arriving from continental Europe or from most international markets will be changing side as well as changing country, and that belongs in the interview and the familiarisation plan rather than on the first shift.
Freight roles use C and CE, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1, with DE and D1E where a trailer is drawn. Delivery work sits in category B.
Professional drivers in the C and D categories need the European professional driver qualification, shown by code 95 or a driver qualification card and maintained through periodic training. A digital tachograph driver card is required for in scope work and ADR training for dangerous goods.
Establish the licence exchange position before the start date. A licence issued outside the Union generally has to be exchanged, and the conditions depend on the issuing country.
Experience requirements are set by operators. Port work looks for container handling, coach work for customer contact and languages, while delivery fleets often accept newly qualified drivers. FastDriver.eu can present candidate information, but verifying original documents remains the employer's responsibility.
Publish driver vacancies in Greek or English with the licence category, district, shift pattern and seasonality set out clearly.
Extend the reach of vacancies well beyond a small island candidate pool.
Applications reach your team directly, with no agency between you and the driver.
Support in reaching drivers who match your licence and route requirements, without any promise of a specific candidate.
Guidance on the District Labour Office step, the permit route and the accommodation and guarantee duties that come with it.
Coordination of travel, arrival and registration steps when an international candidate is hired.
Employer options can be arranged around single vacancies, seasonal peaks or larger recruitment rounds, and are agreed separately with your company.
Specific adverts fill faster, and a documented vacancy also supports the labour market step if a third country hire follows.
Give the company name, the district and the depot, and say whether the role is year round or seasonal.
State the vehicle type and licence category, the code 95 position, and whether ADR or tipper work applies.
Say how many drivers you need and what experience you expect, and mention that driving is on the left.
Describe the shift pattern honestly, including early starts, summer heat and weekend work, and set out pay and benefits.
Confirm the start date, say whether accommodation is provided, and whether you would consider candidates needing a permit.
Your company sets and honours the final employment terms.
Tell us the role, the district, the licence category and how many drivers you need.
The vacancy goes live in Greek, English or both, and is promoted to relevant candidates locally and abroad.
Applications arrive directly for your team to assess.
You interview, inspect the original licence and code 95, and confirm the licence exchange position.
Your company issues the employment contract under Cypriot employment law.
Where a third country national is hired, the District Labour Office step, the stamped contract, the entry and residence permit, the accommodation and the bank guarantee all follow. Support can be agreed separately.
Work through these before publishing. The accommodation and guarantee obligations are costs, not formalities.
The Cypriot employer is responsible for the following.
These two obligations are the ones employers most often overlook when comparing Cyprus with other member states. They are conditions of the permit rather than optional benefits, so factor them into the cost of the hire from the outset.

It covers repatriation of the worker. Your company puts it up as part of the process, so include it in the hire cost when you plan.
The residence and employment permit is granted up to a maximum period, with exceptions for certain jobs. Confirm your current position in the role before committing to a longer engagement.
It genuinely does. Cyprus drives on the left, so a driver from continental Europe or most international markets is changing side as well as country. Raise it atthe interview and plan the familiarisation.
Yes. Professional drivers in the C and D categories need the European professional driver qualification, coded 95, with periodic training every 5 years.
Your company does. The platform may collect candidate information and assist with document coordination, but inspecting the originals is the employer’s responsibility.
There is no fixed timeline. Allow for the labour market test, the stamped contract stage, and the permit decision, plus the medical and criminal record documents required for the application.
Options depend on the number of vacancies, the promotion level and the support you need. Terms are agreed with your company in advance.
Submit the employer enquiry with your company details and driver requirements, or post the vacancy directly. Your team then reviews the applications and selects the driver.
